報告簡介:The effects of negative triangularity (NT) on?boundary plasma turbulence are investigated using?global,nonlinear, three-dimensional, flux-driven two-fluid simulations. NT plasmas exhibit a strong?suppression of interchange-driveninstabilities,leading to?enhanced confinement and significantly reduced?fluctuation levels compared to positive triangularity (PT)?plasmas.This stabilization isattributedto the weakening?of curvature drive in the unfavorable region, caused by?the stretchingof magnetic field lines near the outer?midplane. Complementarygyrokinetic simulations?further indicate that, although NT is beneficial for?mitigating boundary turbulence, it may be less favorable?for heavy-impurity control, particularly for high-Z?species such as tungsten.In this talk, these results and?their implications for NT operation in future devices will?be discussed.
報告人簡介: Dr. Kyungtak Lim is currently an assistant?professor at Nanyang Technological University (NTU),?Singapore. His research focuses on plasma turbulence?using advanced numerical?tools,includingfluid and?gyrokinetic codes such as GBS and GYSELA. Before?joining NTU, he was a postdoctoral researcher at EPFL?in Switzerland, where he worked in the boundary theory?group.
